Suzie Q Pole Studio was founded by Suzie Q and Charlee Fox in May 2008 in the heart of the Parramatta CBD – directly above the well-known Sicilian Restaurant in Church St. We actually had to share bathroom facilities with the restaurant patrons and provided our students with pink bathrobes to cover up their heels and hot pants! After about two years in this location we decided to expand and in December 2010 we moved to a bigger premises in North Parramatta where you will find us today.
The current studio has two rooms with 16 x 3.1 metre poles upstairs and 11 x 4.2 metre poles downstairs.
We were also the first pole school in NSW to offer aerials classes (lyra, trapeze and silks).
We offer classes in all levels of pole from absolute Beginners right through to Advanced as well as Aerials, Stretch and Contortion classes and general conditioning classes. We are open to guys and girls who want to see a dramatic difference in their core and upper body strength who are seeking something a little different from traditional gym workouts.
Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds including dance, gymnastics, fitness, yoga, pilates, ballet and professional showgirls. Many of them have been awarded State, National and International pole titles. They hold certificates in CPR and First Aid, along with many industry training certifications in body movement, exercise physiology and massage.
We also created Australia’s first ever Semi-Professional Pole Competition – offering one of the largest prize pools for a pole comp anywhere in the world (over $10,000 in cash and prizes). PoleCandy was held at One World Sport in 2009, we outgrew that space and held our next few events at the Albion Hotel before taking it to the iconic Roxy Theatre in 2011. The Roxy sadly closed its doors in 2014 and we held our 2015 event at the Riverside Theatre. Keep updated via the PoleCandy Facebook page and website for future events.
